Yesss!! Success, finally. I took a lesson with Karen O'Neal and I hope to continue when possible.
2) Jump at least once a week or once every other week! We need to get some practice in :)
Roughly once a week was achieved.
3) Adjustibility in the canter and improve downward canter transitions.
Not quite - mostly we've been concentrating on trot to canter transitions, which are much better, so now I think we should work on this, especially because it will help our jumping a lot! Anyone have any good exercises for teaching a horse to go from a hand-gallop to a collected canter without a struggle??
4) Shoulder-in at the trot, haunches-in at the walk
Meh, forgot about this one, lol. Our leg yield has been coming along so well. So the next step will be doing more of these!
Hmm, what shall my goals be for this next month??
- Jumping goals
- Put together lines of three to five strides
- Play around with some more height to jumps, go from 2'6" to 3'
- Canter poles often
- Flatwork goals
- Improve control and adjustability in canter
- Work on flexibility in canter - Jetta has tendency to brace jaw in canter
- Shoulder-in & haunches-in
- Continue working on stretchy trot. It's getting better, but still inconsistent
- Work on bridling - Jetta has been a brat about standing still for bridling lately!
